Once again Team New Blood keeps the IFL blood fresh by bringing in new duelists. LaFey is still Captain of the ship, but has stepped into a managerial position instead. It’s a shame that New Blood lost Burke to DCK, but they kept Ettyn (1-1, 0.00 PDPB) and Jackson (2-2, 0.50 PDPB) – the only other two members with positive seasonal performances. They open 2020 with 2 Trainees, 2 FlyWeights, 2 MiddleWeights, and 1 HeavyWeight. Jackson will need to flex his HeavyWeight status and bring in some high profile victories for New Blood while Ettyn and a few others step up to support him. Another key element this season will be LaFey’s team management, including mentorship for the Trainees and well targeted pairings that lean into his fighters strengths.
